2011 Summer Camps!
DID YOU KNOW...that middle school and high school students only have about 6 weeks after school starts to be ready for the ALL-Region and All-State audition processes? Our camps will introduce students to all the music they will need to know for the coming year's audtion process, giving them a significant amount of time to practice before the auditions begin.
AND we also have a camp just for the 4th-6th graders to prepare them for the choir life they will have when they transition to the middle school choir programs!
All camps will be held at the Lake Travis United Methodist Church - Music Arts Academy. 1502 Ranch Road 620 North, Lakeway, TX 78734
June 20 - 23 :: Intro to TMEA All-State Choir Camp
Grades 9 - 12: Students will be introduced to every piece of music from the TMEA All-State audition list. Each piece will be broken down by parts and taught to the students. Notes from the TMEA conductors will be given to the participants.
Details: 9am to 2pm daily. Students are required to purchase the All-State sheet music prior to the camp. This music can be used at both All-State camps.
June 27 - 30 :: Junior Choir Camp
Grades 4-6: The students will start their days with learning the beginnings of how to read sheet music via fun camp songs. Then each afternoon we will participate in a themed fun event. Movies, choir Olympics and water balloon fights are just the beginning! Our plan is to inspire young singers!
Details: 9am to 2pm daily. Sheet music not required.
July 5 - 8 :: Middle School All-Region Choir Camp
Grades 7-8: Students will learn the All-Region Choir audtion materials. We will teach the kids their parts and how to effectively practice their music at home.

August 1 - 4 :: All-State Choir Camp
Grades 9-12: Students will sing through all the audtion materials. This week will be mostly focused on the District and Region pieces. We will study each of these pieces in depth and give the students a good foundation to build upon.
